About the Festival
The Gochang Moyangseong Festival is a historical and cultural festival centered around Moyangseong Fortress, which boasts the best-preserved original form in Korea. The representative program, 'Dapseongnori' (Fortress Wall Walking), is an experiential program based on the legend that walking around Moyangseong once cures leg ailments, twice ensures a long and healthy life, and three times leads to ascension to paradise. In addition, it offers various attractions and entertainment such as the 'Night Dapseong Ganggangsullae', a street parade with over 1,000 participants, the Gochang Eupseong Fortress exploration program 'Returns 1453', and local specialty food and direct sales markets.
