About the Festival
The Lotus Lantern Festival (Yeondeunghoe) is a National Intangible Cultural Heritage and a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity with a history of 1,200 years. Centered around the Lotus Lantern Parade from Dongdaemun to Jogyesa Temple, various programs such as traditional cultural events and lantern lighting ceremonies are held, sharing the values of participation, consideration, and equality.
