The Gwangju Royal Ceramic Festival is held annually to promote the historicity and excellence of royal ceramics, which were presented to the royal court during the Joseon Dynasty, and to allow people to enjoy ceramic culture more broadly. In 2025, various programs will be presented, creatively combining physical artworks like ceramics with narrative content like royal culture, allowing visitors to experience history, art, and tradition. Beyond simple experiences, the plan is to enhance immersive content utilizing historical materials to provide a special experience for visitors. During the festival period, various programs will be operated to enjoy local culture and arts, and diverse events such as traditional ceramic culture experiences and cultural and artistic performances are also planned.
The Gwangju Royal Ceramic Festival is held around Konjiam Ceramic Park. The address is 727 Gyeongchung-daero, Konjiam-eup, Gwangju-si, Gyeonggi-do.
Admission to the Gwangju Royal Ceramic Festival is free.
The Gwangju Royal Ceramic Festival presents various programs where visitors can creatively experience history, art, and tradition. Main programs include the Tribute Parade and Royal Cuisine Experience, while participatory experiences such as ceramic experience programs, ceramic time auction, and royal culture experience are also provided. Cultural and artistic programs include the Joseon Royal Pungnyu Performance, busking performances, and a symposium. Additionally, linkages with May events (Food Culture Festival, Gwangju Arts Festival, Multicultural Harmony Festival, Children's Day Family Festival, etc.) and the Konjiam River Market are operated. Exhibition programs feature the Gwangju Royal Ceramic Exhibition and Sale, and the Royal Ceramic Masterpiece Exhibition. Performances include busking and fringe performances, and a Royal Ceramic Folk Drama. Experience programs include installation art, River Market, Bunwon Arcade, A Potter's Day (Royal Ceramic Experience), and historical culture crafting experiences, among others.
