The Gochang Moyang Fortress Festival is a historical and cultural festival centered around Moyang Fortress, which is the best-preserved fortress in its original form in Korea. Its signature program is Dapseongnori (Fortress Wall Walking), developed as an experiential program based on the legend that walking around the fortress once cures leg ailments, twice ensures a long and healthy life, and thrice leads to ascending to paradise. Additionally, the festival features the "Night Dapseong Ganggangsullae Dalbam" where citizens and tourists blend Dapseongnori with Ganggangsullae (Korean circle dance) under the moonlight, a street parade with over 1,000 residents expressing the past, present, and future, "Returns 1453" offering a journey into the past while exploring Gochang-eupseong Fortress, and operates food stalls using local specialties of Gochang and a direct-sales market.
