Goyang Haengju Cultural Festival

Festival Highlights
- Commemorating the Victory of the Battle of Haengju
- Historical and Cultural Festival

This is a historical and cultural festival that commemorates the victory of the 'Battle of Haengju (幸州大捷)', one of the three great victories during the Imjin War, and inherits the victorious spirit of the patriotic martyrs achieved through the voluntary participation and sacrifice of General Gwon Yul (權慄, 1537-1599) and the people, reinterpreting it in a modern context. Every spring, in the area of Haengjusanseong Fortress, the historical site of the Battle of Haengju, and Haengjusanseong History Park, which offers a beautiful view of the Han River, the festival presents representative programs such as the Battle of Haengju stone-throwing game (national gourds-breaking contest), drone performances and water fireworks on the Han River, and the musical "Battle of Haengju." It also features programs that inherit tradition, such as goyurye (a traditional ritual) and gilnori (street parade), along with various other performance, exhibition, experience, and participation programs.
