Yeongam Wangin Culture Festival

Festival Highlights
- 29-year history
- Cultural tourism festival

The Yeongam Wangin Culture Festival, which began in 1997, is a representative cultural tourism festival of Korea with a history of 29 years, held every spring against the backdrop of the Historic Site of Dr. Wangin. At the pinnacle of ancient East Asian cultural exchange was Dr. Wangin. The advanced culture and Confucian classics of Baekje crossed the Korea Strait to the Japanese archipelago via Wangin, and his teachings went beyond mere knowledge, becoming the fundamental driving force that gave birth to "Asuka Culture," the golden age of ancient Japanese culture. Wangin's firm scholarship (學識), the gracefully flowing Yeongsan River, and Sangdaepo symbolize the waves of exchange that spread culture across the sea. Here, we reaffirm that the roots of Asuka culture lie in Yeongam.
