The Ansan International Street Arts Festival (Ansan Street Arts Festival) has been Korea's representative street arts festival since 2005, filling everyday streets and plazas with art every May. In the dry routine of familiar streets and landscapes, the Ansan International Street Arts Festival has offered moments of fleeting wonder and diverse artistic experiences. This year's festival will present an even richer program with leading street performing arts groups from Korea and abroad, expanding spaces for children and youth, strengthening accessibility for people with disabilities, and seeking coexistence between humans and non-humans, thereby creating an open festival for everyone.
Ansan Culture Square (157 Gwangdeok-daero, Danwon-gu, Ansan-si, Gyeonggi-do)
The Ansan International Street Arts Festival consists of performance programs, special programs, and side programs. Performance programs include opening/closing performances that mark the beginning and end of the festival, official selections combining artistry and popularity embodying the festival's identity, and street art production support performances showcasing perspectives and stories rooted in Ansan. Special programs include 'YES Kids Zone', an urban playground where children can play freely; Youth Space, a space for youth-led culture; Forest Retreat, a program to relax in a forest area located in a corner of the festival grounds; Citizen Version, a local citizen participation program where citizens become artists and perform; Music Street, a space where buskers and music lovers can enjoy various music together; and Commercial Area Revitalization Program, exciting performances by citizen artists in the commercial area near Ansan Culture Square. Side programs include the Youth Flea Market, a communicative art flea market showcasing creative works by Ansan youth and fostering interaction with citizens.
