The Gochang Green Barley Field Festival is Gochang-gun's representative festival, centered around the green barley fields, one of the main ecological resources of Gochang-gun, Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province. Since its first holding in 2004, it has been building a long history as the number one scenic agricultural festival in the nation, attracting an average of 300,000 visitors every year. The most beautiful period during the barley's growth cycle is called the "green barley" period. During this time, when the barley shows its most fantastic appearance, you can see the green barley fields spread across approximately 770,000 square meters in the area of Hakwon Farm in Gongheum-myeon, Gochang-gun, from mid-April to mid-May every year.
The opening ceremony includes pre-performances, celebratory performances, and more. Cultural performances feature barley field Pungmul street performances, busking performances on the paths between the barley fields, and more. Event programs include "Find the 7 UNESCO-designated treasures" and SNS promotion events.
