The Andong International Maskdance Festival is a 'maskdance' festival that aims to inherit the universal value of masks and maskdances, a global universal culture, and to share their charm. You can experience maskdances from various countries, including performances by 34 groups from 25 countries, as well as Korean maskdances listed as UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. The festival will feature performances at the Maskdance Performance Hall, street parades in the city center, and the World Mask Play Competition, offering a chance to discover the expressions and stories that masks and maskdances hold in each country.
Domestic and International Maskdance Performances (17 domestic maskdance troupes listed as UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity 'Korean Maskdance' participate, 33 overseas maskdance troupes from 28 countries participate), Madanggeuk (Traditional Korean outdoor play) & Creative Play Performances, Mask Play Troupe Performances, Competitions such as World Mask Play Competition, Mask Talent, World Creative Mask Contest, Maskdance Painting Contest, Citizen participation events such as Daedong Nanjang (Grand communal gathering), Street Parade, Various experiential events such as Mask Making, Learning Maskdance, Provision of festival food to experience the Maskdance Festival and Andong.
