It is a festival that honors the spirit of Admiral Yi Sun-sin, a renowned general who saved the nation, and allows participants to learn about his life's trajectory through various programs. Since its first celebration in 1961 under the name "Onyang Cultural Festival," it has been held every year, and in 2004, its name was changed to "Asan Admiral Yi Sun-sin Festival."
The festival consists of official events, invited performances, stage operations, and other programs. Official events include the opening/closing ceremonies, 428 Choir performance, media art show, and drone show. Invited performances include the Military Band and Honor Guard performance (Air Force Military Band performance, Navy Public Relations fringe performance), Theme Performances A & B, Hakikjin Dance Battle, International Ethnic Dance Festival, and Black Eagles. Stage operations take place at Onyang Oncheon Station Plaza (main stage / outdoor) and the Onyang Oncheon Station area (Yi Sun-sin Running Man, citizen participation program, OHS game / outdoor). Other programs include the Table of Loyalty and Filial Piety, Suunjapbang (food program), experience programs, and screening of Yi Sun-sin films.
