The "Life, Peace, and Coexistence World Writers' Network" will hold the DMZ World Literary Festa from March 27 (Fri) to March 29 (Sun), 2026, at Camp Greaves within the DMZ, a site of division, to foster literary discourse on democracy and peace, and to connect and exchange among writers worldwide. This event is a platform for global writers to discuss literary responses to worldwide wars and conflicts. Most importantly, by hosting this event in the DMZ, the world's only divided ceasefire zone, we aim to share the language of world literature on democracy and peace through a forum of in-depth dialogue and exchange among international writers, resisting war, conflict, hatred, and discrimination under the attention of the world. We seek to walk the path of literary practice oriented towards life, peace, and coexistence, where Korean and world literature unite to overcome the division system and alleviate tensions on the Korean Peninsula.
The main programs consist of sessions (Division, Peace, Democracy, Diaspora, Minority) and ancillary events and programs. Ancillary events include a Peace Talk (From the Land of Silence to the Language of Life) and a Book Fair. The Book Fair comprises Ajeoninsoo (Self-serving interpretation) Curation, One Local Bookstore, One Local Author's Room, and the Life, Peace, Coexistence Station (A Zone: Bookshop Daedongyeojido / B Zone: Peaceful & Genre-holic / C Zone: Youth Art & Design / D Zone: Theme Pavilion, Invited Authors' Room).
It will be held at DMZ Camp Greaves and Paju Book City. The address is 145 Hoedong-gil, Paju-si, Gyeonggi-do (Munbal-dong) (Forest of Wisdom).
Admission is free. However, for 100 participants of the Camp Greaves Peace Citizen Group (pre-recruited), there is a participation fee of 20,000 KRW.
