The 'Clipper Race Stopover Event, PORT WEEK' will be held for one week from March 16th in the area around Tongyeong's Donam Tourist Complex. The 'Clipper Round the World Yacht Race' is a global event where yachts circumnavigate the world without stopping. This is the first time Tongyeong, a domestic city, has been selected as a stopover, and also the first time a world-class yacht race visits South Korea. During this Port Week, a variety of programs will be offered to provide visitors with special experiences, including a splendid departure ceremony and sea parade, yacht tours, RC yacht experiences, and live talk shows. In addition, emotional cultural programs will be prepared, making it a festival venue for all participants, tourists, and local citizens who visit Tongyeong.
The event will take place from March 16th to March 22nd, 2026, in the area of Tongyeong's Donam Tourist Complex (642-4 Donam-dong, Tongyeong-si, Gyeongsangnam-do).
During this Port Week, a variety of programs will be offered to provide visitors with special experiences, including a splendid departure ceremony and sea parade, yacht tours, RC yacht experiences, and live talk shows. Main programs include the Athletes' Welcome Ceremony, Athletes' Awards Ceremony, Integrated Marine Leisure Forum, and Departure Ceremony (Parade of Sail). Side events and programs include PORT TABLE (Food Collaboration Event, World Culture Event, Marine Leisure Exhibition), Clipper Racing Yacht Tour (Yacht Open/Mooring/Sail Tour), and Stage Programs. In particular, the 'PORT TABLE' session, held from Friday, March 20th to Sunday, March 22nd, will feature food collaborations presented by Chef Kang Leo, a representative chef of Korea, utilizing Tongyeong's fresh seafood, along with food booths offering flavors from around the world. Additionally, fringe performances and world culture festival performances will be held on a special outdoor stage. On Saturday, March 21st, emotional cultural programs such as the '2026 Republic of Korea Cultural City Music Wave Special Performance: The Jazz Ambassadors Orchestra with Malo', 'International Ocean Film Festival Short Film Screening', and a Clipper Race celebratory fireworks show will also be prepared.
