Our ancestors, in the harsh winters, would connect their houses with ropes due to heavy snowfall, creating snow tunnels along these ropes for passage. When the cold river winds caused the shallow rapids to freeze early, they would hunt winter fish by striking large rocks in the river with hammers to sustain themselves. In this very place, the hardships of our ancestors' lives have been elevated into a festival. The Pyeongchang Trout Festival unfolds annually from late December to late January, under the theme "A Winter Story with Snow, Ice, and Trout." On the ice, you can clearly see fish swimming in the Odaecheon Stream, experience the thrilling sensation of trout fishing, and enjoy a variety of winter activities, truly experiencing the joy of a winter festival.
