The Gochang Hajeon Clam Five Senses Experience Festival is held in Hajeon Village within the Gochang tidal flats, a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site. Utilizing clams, a specialty of Hajeon Village which is the largest clam production area in the country, as its main theme, it is a regional seafood festival that offers visitors opportunities for experience and consumption, including tidal flat experiences, clam dishes, and direct seafood sales. You can meet the chewy Hajeon clams that are in season in May.
Hajeon Fishing Village Experience Village (55-21 Seojeon-gil, Simwon-myeon, Gochang-gun, Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province)
The main programs are clam digging experience and tidal flat parade. Side programs include a Golden Bell Quiz, clam cooking launch show and tasting, indie band performances, and a short-form content contest. Consumer participation programs include the Blue Carbon Playground (sand play, upcycling, photo zone, muffin decorating clay play, seagrass planting, stamp tour, clicker, rocket, car making, ball decoration, pendant bracelet), and various foods and a short-form video production studio will also be available.
Admission is free, and some programs are charged.
