Gijang Anchovy Festival

The Gijang Anchovy Festival, where you can enjoy the vitality of seasonal anchovies carried by the spring breeze, will be held around Daebyeon Port. Celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, the festival will showcase dynamic culinary programs and special cultural events that connect the taste and tradition of the Gijang sea. It is full of representative attractions such as fishing boat rides, free anchovy sashimi tasting, and a surprise seafood auction, as well as special sights like the 30th-anniversary street parade and a maritime fireworks show. Various hands-on programs for all ages, such as bare-handed fresh fish catching, the Gijang Anchovy Song Contest, and an EDM party, will also be held throughout the festival period.

A variety of programs are prepared, including the 30th Anniversary Concert, Gijang Anchovy Song Contest, Anchovy Silver 'Rak' Performance, Street Parade, free anchovy sashimi tasting, surprise seafood auction, anchovy jeotgal kimchi making and delivery ceremony, fishing boat rides, bare-handed fresh fish catching, Challenge Myeolchi! (recreation), Taegun Singing Contest, and a maritime fireworks show.

The festival will be held around Daebyeon Port, Gijang-eup, Gijang-gun (605 Gijanghaean-ro, Gijang-eup, Gijang-gun, Busan) from April 24 to April 26, 2026.

Admission is free, and some experience programs are operated for a fee.
