The World Heritage Festival is a cultural heritage festival designed to interpret and experience the universal values of humanity's shared heritage in a modern way, set against the backdrop of UNESCO World Heritage sites located throughout the country. It is hosted by the National Heritage Administration and organized by the Korea Heritage Agency, featuring a variety of programs such as performances, experiences, exhibitions, and seminars based on the history and meaning of each region's World Heritage site. This year, celebrating its 7th anniversary, the World Heritage Festival will unfold nationwide, focusing on the 'Gaya Tumuli' – traces of ancient civilization distributed across the Gyeongsang and Jeolla regions, 'Jeju Volcanic Island and Lava Tubes' – showcasing the unique beauty of volcanic topography, and Andong's 'Sansa, Buddhist Mountain Monasteries of Korea', 'Historic Villages of Korea', and 'Seowon, Korean Neo-Confucian Academies', where tradition and modernity coexist. At these sites where the traces of time live and breathe, the World Heritage Festival will offer a special experience that connects the heritage of the past to the "joy of today."
