Located in the Sojubang Hall of Gyeongbokgung Palace, 'Saenggwabang' was one of the six royal offices (六處所) and was responsible for preparing desserts and special dishes for the 'King and Queen', also known as 'Saengmulbang'. The Gyeongbokgung Saenggwabang program is a paid experiential program designed to allow participants to enjoy royal confections and herbal teas, based on the actual recipes eaten by the kings, as recorded in the Annals of the Joseon Dynasty.
The Gyeongbokgung Saenggwabang program consists of a tasting experience of royal confections and royal herbal teas. Participants can experience Sukjong's Tea Table: Tea and refreshments for longevity and moderation, and Yeongjo's Tea Table: Tea and refreshments for a brilliant banquet.
The tasting experience is held 4 times a day. 1st session 10:00~11:10 (70 minutes), 2nd session 11:40~12:50 (70 minutes), 3rd session 13:50~15:00 (70 minutes), 4th session 15:30~16:40 (70 minutes). The program operates from April 8, 2026, to May 27, 2026.
Gyeongbokgung Saenggwabang takes place at the Sojubang Hall of Gyeongbokgung Palace, located at 161 Sajik-ro, Jongno-gu, Seoul (Sejong-ro).
The Gyeongbokgung Saenggwabang program is paid, and the participation fee is 15,000 won per person. A 50% discount is applied to persons with disabilities (severe (former grades 1-3) up to 2 people including self, mild (former grades 4-6) limited to self) and national merit recipients or holders of national veterans registration cards (limited to self).
