The Royal Culture Festival is a festival held every spring and autumn at Seoul's five royal palaces, including Gyeongbokgung, Changdeokgung, Changgyeonggung, Deoksugung, and Gyeonghuigung, as well as Jongmyo Shrine, which are national heritage sites representing Korea and embody the history of the Joseon Dynasty and the Korean Empire. Celebrating its 11th anniversary this year, the 2025 Royal Culture Festival presents various programs planned based on royal culture and history.
The Spring Royal Culture Festival features "Time Travel, Sejong" at Gyeongbokgung Palace, the main palace of Joseon, followed by the "K-Heritage Market" where traditional crafts and foods can be enjoyed, the "Children's Royal Culture Festival," the "Old Palace Concert - 100 People Enjoying Together" held at Geunjeongjeon Hall, and the exhibition "Old Palace Full of Scenery" capturing the charm of royal culture. In autumn, visitors will be welcomed with diverse programs that allow them to experience the palaces and royal culture more intimately, such as the "Gyeongbokgung Hanbok Yeonhyang" where visitors can enjoy traditional Korean hanbok, the "Humanities Concert," "Donggwol Jangwonseo," and "Everyone's Punggyeoldo 2025." Main programs include "Time Travel, Sejong," "Children's Royal Culture Festival," "Waking Up the Morning Palace," and "Gyeongbokgung Hanbok Yeonhyang," with linked programs like the Old Palace Concert - 100 People Enjoying Together. In addition to the opening ceremony (April 24), reservation programs for locals include Palace Pass (goods), 2026 Royal Culture Festival Opening Ceremony, Gyeongbokgung Palace, Time Travel - Royal Novice, Waking Up the Morning Palace, Crown Prince Hyomyeong and the Dance of the Moon, The Queen's Taste, Yeongchunheon, Spring Study, Jongmyo Jeryeak Night Performance, and Old Palace Concert '100 People's Taepyeongjiak (太平之樂)'. Reservation programs for foreigners include 2026 Royal Culture Festival Opening Ceremony, Crown Prince Hyomyeong and the Dance of the Moon, Waking Up the Morning Palace, The Emperor's Table, and Jongmyo Jeryeak Night Performance (Linked Program: Old Palace Concert '100 People's Taepyeongjiak (太平之樂)').
