Gongju Seokjangni Paleolithic Festival

Festival Highlights
- Historical and Cultural Festival
- Child-friendly Experiences

The Gongju Seokjangni Paleolithic Festival is a historical and cultural festival where children can naturally learn about the culture and lifestyle of the Paleolithic era through direct experience and enjoyment. Facilities within the venue are designed as 'makjip' (primitive shelters), the living spaces of the Paleolithic age, to evoke the period as much as possible. Various experiential programs, combining education and play to spark children's curiosity and creativity, are continuously operated throughout the festival. In addition to child-friendly experiences, diverse photo zones targeting younger generations offer an opportunity to heal in nature and capture 'life shots'. Every May, the Seokjangni Paleolithic Festival offers a time travel journey to the Paleolithic era, full of diverse experiences and sights.
The festival program consists of main programs, performance programs, experiential programs, and other programs. Main programs include the opening ceremony, special exhibition (Stone Tool Resume), Paleolithic Nomadic Troupe, and Paleolithic Hunting Pick. Performance programs include the theme performance 'Paleolithic On Air' and 'Corner by Corner Paleolithic Talk' (Seokjangni Story). Experiential programs include the Seokjangni Paleolithic Experience, A Day in the Life of a Paleolithic Person, and Children's Career Experience Theme Park (KidZania). Other programs include the Paleolithic Food Kingdom, photo zones, Children's Day events, children's play facilities, and fire safety experiences, etc.
The festival is held at Gongju Seokjangni Museum and the Sangwang-dong event venue area. The address is 990 Geumbyeok-ro, Gongju-si, Chungcheongnam-do.
Admission is free, and some programs operate for a fee.
