The Yeongju Korea Seonbi Culture Festival is a representative humanities and experiential cultural festival in Korea, where tradition and modernity, people and people naturally harmonize in Yeongju, the hometown of the Seonbi spirit. Based on Yeongju's deep history and rich Seonbi culture assets, it welcomes visitors with a variety of programs where they can see, hear, feel, and directly experience traditional culture. It offers rich content, including rituals and etiquette, daily life culture, performances and exhibitions, and participatory experiences, creating an open cultural venue where visitors can naturally interact and enjoy across generations and boundaries. Through this, people can rediscover human-centered encounters and the value of living traditions in their daily lives, and reflect on forgotten emotions and the meaning of community.
The Yeongju Korea Seonbi Culture Festival offers a variety of programs. Special programs include Gohyuje, opening and closing ceremonies, and cultural performances (traditional performances, Korean dance, gugak performances). Stage programs feature performances by local cultural artists and Madanggeuk. Experiential programs allow visitors to enjoy Hanbok experience, tea ceremony, traditional archery, calligraphy experience, rubbings, traditional etiquette class, traditional makeup and gache (wig) experience, and a photo booth. Additionally, exhibition programs such as Seonbi Road, Seonbi Book Festival, and Seonbi Space Exhibition, as well as other programs like the Local Co-prosperity Market and Seonbi Marketplace, are also available.
The Yeongju Korea Seonbi Culture Festival is held at Yeongju Korea Seonbi Culture Theme Park (Seonbichon, Training Center, Seonbisesang), Sosuseowon Confucian Academy, and the area of 1 Seonbisesang-ro, Sunheung-myeon, Yeongju-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do (Seonbisesang).
