The 2025 Yeoju Ogoknaru Festival is a traditional cultural festival held based on the historical background of presenting Yeoju's excellent agricultural products, such as rice and sweet potatoes, to the king via Joponaru, one of the four major ferry ports during the Joseon Dynasty. Key programs include the Jinseong Parade, Yeoju Rice Iron Pot Bibimbap, Baked Sweet Potato Guinness, Wish Paper Path, and Nakwhanori (fireworks). It is a representative autumn festival that people of all ages can enjoy through various foods, traditional experiences, and night programs.
Yeoju Rice Iron Pot Bibimbap is a program where you can enjoy Yeoju's new rice bibimbap cooked in a large iron pot at an affordable price. The Baked Sweet Potato Guinness is a grand performance where everyone shares Yeoju sweet potatoes baked in 10 super large sweet potato ovens. The Jinseong Parade is a parade that re-enacts the story of presenting Yeoju's agricultural products from Joponaru to Hanyang during the Joseon Dynasty. The Wish Paper Path is a swaying bridge wish paper path that embodies the legend that wishes come true when made while looking at the Namhangang River. The Yeoju Heunam-ri Ssangyongge Tug-of-War is a traditional tug-of-war procession performed by the residents of Heunam-ri Village, Jeomdong-myeon, wishing for a bountiful harvest on Jeongwol Daeboreum (the Great Full Moon Day). The Yeoju Bondu-ri Nakwhanori is a traditional firework display from Bondu-ri, Ganam-eup, creating a spectacular scene of fireworks scattering over the Namhangang River.
At Ogok Madang, Ogok Marketplace, Yeoju Rice Promotion Hall, Joseon Playground, and Rural Tourism Experience are held. At Naru Madang, programs such as Baked Sweet Potato Guinness, BBQ Skewer Experience, Naru Performance Stage, Ferry Street Market, Straw Play Area, Wish Paper Path, Nakwhanori (fireworks), Starlight Granary Path, Namhangang Media Lighting Show, Naru Flying Show, Naru Media Art, and Mongyudowon are prepared. At Janchi Madang, you can enjoy Iron Pot Yeoju Rice Bibimbap, Food Market, Homemade Liquor Tasting, Tteokmechigi (rice cake pounding), and Yeoju Pottery Wheel experience.
The festival will be held in the area around Silleuksa Tourist Site (290-3 Cheonsong-dong, Yeoju-si, Gyeonggi-do) from October 23, 2026, to October 25, 2026.
